Sitemaps and SEO WPMU Dev

Realtime SEO

Every time you publish, update or delete a post, we tell Google, Bing and Yahoo.

All posts get properly tagged and SEO'd.

Includes an optimized all-in-one-SEO pack that does not need database changes or manual settings.

Setup

If you are not using Multisite, edit simple-sitemaps.php and change line 99 to

if (function_exists('switch_to_blog'))
{
    switch_to_blog( $wpdb->blogid );
}

Upload to wp-content/mu-plugins/
  • simple-sitemaps.php
  • all_in_one_seo_pack.php
  • all-in-one-seo-pack folder
  • update-notifications.php (only if using Multisite)

Upload to wp-content/
  • sitemap.php

Edit .htaccess

Add
RewriteRule ^(.*/)?sitemap.xml wp-content/sitemap.php [L]

Right after
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]

Or after the last line in "# uploaded files" (if you have it)

Total posts

By default, only the latest 25 posts are in the sitemap

To increase this, edit line 29 in simple-sitemaps.php
var $totalposts = 25; // Number of posts to display

Test

Do you see your sitemap at
yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml

Use Firefox (Chrome displays it as one long line)
